Gateway Coaching is an initiative to connect coaches who need to earn paid experience hours for their certification or credential with people who might not otherwise be able to afford coaching.

Potential clients apply to join a cohort. Clients qualify if they are within one year of graduation, are currently unemployed, and/or make less than $35,000 per year.

If accepted to the cohort, clients are matched with a coach to work with for four sessions. The client pays $115 for the four sessions. $15 goes towards Gateway Coaching for operational costs. The remaining $100, less any transfer fees, goes to the coach.

Gateway Coaching offers you an opportunity to share your coaching skills with someone who might not otherwise be able to afford coaching. Give back while earning hours towards your certification or credential.

In order to coach on Gateway Coaching, you must be currently enrolled or been previously enrolled in an ICF-accredited coach training.

In order to coach on the platform, you must have participated in a minimum of 50 hours of coach training and logged a minimum of 15 coaching practice hours.

First, you'll submit your application.

If your application meets our criteria, we'll invite you to an asynchronous interview.

The next step is a practice barter coaching session so that we can see your coaching style in action.

For those who move forward in the process, the final step is to complete your Independent Contractor agreement and your agreement to adhere to the International Coaching Federation's ethical standards.

From there, you'll be in our pool of coaches for Gateway Coaching cohorts. Coaches have the ability to opt in or out of matching for each cohort. Gateway Coaching cannot guarantee that a coach will be matched in a round.
